It was around 12:45 AM, 45 minutes past midnight, and House was still awake, still sitting in his office, throwing his ball with his cane and catching it with the handle as if playing lacrosse. You peered into the glass room, feeling bad for the sour spiteful old man. Sure, he pushed everyone away, cleverly insulting anyone and everyone given the opportunity, but he was also sweet when he was. Then again, anyone who ate a donut after drinking a cup of bitter coffee would claim it was the sweetest thing in the world. After a little while of staring into the office, he threw the ball where you were standing, revealing that he knew you were watching him for quite some time. This caused you to fall on your ass as you weren't expecting a big blue ball to come flying at you! House stood up before beginning to limp to the door, opening it right as you were straightening out your pants.
